Privacy Policy
We value your privacy and aim to be transparent about how your data is collected, used, and protected when you use Spnding.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the app:
- Account information
• Name and email from your chosen sign-in provider (Apple/Google) - App data you provide
• Trips, expenses, categories, currencies
• Payers/participants for group calculations
• Receipt images you upload for record tracking
• (New) PDF statements you upload for extraction - Purchase information
• Non-sensitive purchase metadata used to enable premium features through Apple In-App Purchases (no payment card details stored) - Diagnostics and product analytics
• Crash logs and usage analytics to improve performance, reliability, onboarding, feature quality, and subscription flows
• This may include events such as screen views, feature interactions, receipt scan attempts, paywall views, purchase-related conversion events, app version, device/platform information, and identifiers needed to associate activity with your account or device
PDF Upload & Consent (For bulk upload expenses feature)
By using the PDF upload feature, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You give explicit consent for Spnding to process your uploaded PDF (such as bank statements or e-wallet transactions) for the purpose of extracting expenses into the app.
- We do not store, retain, or permanently save your original PDF files.
- PDFs are processed temporarily, and once extraction is complete, the file is automatically deleted from our servers.
- Only the extracted expense data is saved to your account for use inside the app.
- If you do not agree to this processing, please do not upload PDF files.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide core features: create trips, track and split expenses, store receipts
- Extract spending information from receipts or PDFs (optional feature)
- Improve accuracy and UX using extracted data
- Measure feature usage, product performance, onboarding effectiveness, and premium conversion
- Verify entitlements for premium features
- Maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes.
Analytics and Event Tracking
We use analytics tools, including Mixpanel, to understand how Spnding is used and to improve the product.
- Mixpanel may receive product usage events, device/app metadata, rough technical information, and identifiers associated with your account or device.
- These analytics help us understand feature adoption, diagnose issues, improve onboarding, evaluate paywalls and premium conversion, and monitor the overall health of the app.
- We do not use Mixpanel data to sell your personal information or to serve third-party advertising.
iOS Permissions Used
- Camera — scan receipts to autofill amounts and attach to expenses
- Photos — select existing receipt images or optionally save captured ones
- Microphone (optional) — only if recording videos during receipt capture
- File Access (for PDF upload) — used only for PDF processing, not stored
- App functions normally without microphone permissions
Data Sharing With Service Providers
We only use trusted infrastructure partners to operate Spnding:
- Supabase — secure database hosting & authentication
- Apple In-App Purchases — payment handling & subscription recovery
- Revenuecat — paywall management & entitlement checks
- Mixpanel — product analytics, event tracking, and service improvement
- Cloudflare Pages — hosting for this policy website
Data Retention
- Your app data (expenses, trips, extracted results) remains stored while your account is active
- When you request account deletion, personal identifiers are permanently removed
- Trip records involving other users are reassigned to "Deleted User" to maintain group integrity
- PDF files are not retained and are deleted immediately after extraction
Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Correct or update information
- Delete your account and personal identifiers
- Contact us to ask questions or make requests related to analytics and data handling

Delete directly from the app:
Spnding → Profile → Settings → Delete Account
No access to the app?

Acceptance of Terms
By using Spnding, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Spnding helps you track and split group expenses, capture receipts, and manage balances among participants.
User Accounts
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information in your account and for maintaining account security.
- Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.
Third-Party Services
Spnding relies on third-party service providers to operate parts of the service, including infrastructure, authentication, payment processing, subscriptions, storage, and analytics. By using Spnding, you acknowledge that information may be processed by these providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
Purchases and Subscriptions
- Premium access is sold via Apple In‑App Purchases. Apple’s terms and refund policies apply.
- If you reinstall or change devices, you can restore purchases using your Apple ID.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting unauthorized access, interfering with normal operation, or violating applicable laws.
Limitation of Liability
Spnding is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes
We may update these Terms or this Privacy Policy. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
